About Competition
The Osaka International Music Competition is a renowned, world class competition which began in the year 2000. With no limit to the contestants’ age, this competition is open to all participants, and welcomes ethnic instruments and a range of levels, including an amateur division.
Competition Categories
Section 1
Piano, Vocal Music, Strings, Winds
The Osaka International Music Competition is known for its prestigious level, often compared to many world class competitions in Europe and Asia. Competitors include participants from Europe, United States, and Asia.
Section 2
Early Music (Solo and Ensemble for Harpsichord, Period Instruments etc.), Two Pianos, Piano Four Hands, Duo, Ensemble, Folk Instruments
Folk music category. Please directly let us know if you have any questions about requirements or concerns about repertoire. Our main goal is to have our participants have a chance to perform their music!
Section 3
Youth, Amateurs
This category is for students who are passionate about music, but for those who do not regularly compete in local, national, and international competitions. Although the standard is still high, its purpose is not to find and gather top class musicians, but to encourage those who are working on their craft.
Application fee
Application deadline May 11th
Additional fee for late application between May 12th and May 20th is $25.
General application fee is $150.
if you are playing piece(s) from Suzuki Book1, or Equivalent level,fee is $80.
